Extension to the Dulwich Picture Gallery
(Grade II*) London by Sir John Soane
A national competition open to all UK architects attracted 977 applications and 377 entries our scheme was shortlisted to the final 30 and subject of a public exhibition. The scheme was costed by AL Smith (Quantity Surveyors) @ £2.5M much the same level as most of the other shortlisted entrants, the winner was just £0.5m which obviously appealed to the clients. Our scheme explored the context, imagery and associations as developed by Sir John Soane’s elegant building.
